Wow! It's Been Awhile....

So, Yea.

I need to get on here and update this a LOT more than I have been!

Life has been really challenging lately.

Switched to going Full Time @ School, I still stay up late, but I try to get a quick nap in every day! The jury is still out on whether or not that is a good idea or not.

Kind've stressed out lately. Finishing my 350 so that I can go on the floor, and work on ACTUAL people, besides my fellow students, and victims (AKA Family & Friends!)

Starting to get a REALLY GOOD portfolio going of all of the things I have done since I started school back in October of 2008. I laugh when I look at the first pictures I did of my perms and whatnot, like scrap booking & wine...it gets better over time. I am REALLY confident (FINALLY!) when it comes to rolling a perm! Took me about 6 months, but I am there!

My friend let me clean up his eyebrows today, and I have been doing manicures like mad (Mom would be SO PROUD!) I will have to put up pics of everything I have done over the last couple of months. To remind myself how far I have come, and show off a few things that I am VERY proud of!

Look for some more updates tomorrow!

Happy Easter!

An Artful Challenge....Day 1

So...

My wonderful husband and I decided to challenge ourselves this year. We have decided to draw for about 2 hours every day.

I am trying to come up with different ways to improve my hand-eye coordination, and increase my dexterity and attention to detail, to help aid in my studies for Cosmetology. However, you can only roll a perm so many times, so I was trying to come up with other ways of creatively expressing myself.

We started from square one. I never really took to the drawing classes I did, because it felt so forced. With Kev, it is a very organic and free flowing learning experience, and when I was starting to feel overwhelmed, I said I was done, and moved onto something else. (This was about the two hour mark, as I predicted.) I do realize that the images are fairly faint, but they are sketches after all! :D I will post them to my MySpace and Facebook sites as well! Maybe they will turn out better?

So without further ado, here are my creations from our exercises today...

BE GENTLE! The pages go in opposite order...3,2,1...doh! I didn't pay that close of attention when I uploaded them to the blog!

End.
